It’s a pity not to try Lien Minh chicken when visiting Cat Ba island. Special location of Lien Minh commune with fresh, mild climate help to create the valued local chicken. This is the place with the highest topography on Cat Ba island, which is inhabited.
Being surrounded by rocky mountain next to the shoulder like a great wall separating the village from the outside. That’s why Lien Minh chicken has not been hybrid. Lien Minh chicken has nice shape, 2 – 2,5 kg weight, can lay 65 – 70 eggs yearly. Chicken is farmed freely, no barn, sleep on trees in night time.
The chicken meat is famous for it’s aroma, dark sweetness, firm flesh, low fat, crispy yellow skin. Due to the amount limitation, Lien Minh chicken is enough for local consumption, rarely sell to outside.
