Emeraude cruise 4 star was built locally in Haiphong to international standards but very much in keeping with the original design. In December 2003, the namesake of the glorious old vessel set sail. While the original was split between cargo and cruisers the new Emeraude is exclusively a leisure vessel.  The paddle wheel at the back echoes the design of the original but isn’t used for propulsion. Instead, it opens up to provide a swimming deck for passengers.

HISTORY

In 1910 a paddle steamer called the Emeraude was offering unforgettable cruises in Halong Bay for visitor to what was then French Indochina. The Emeraude was part of a flotilla owned by the Roque family who had left Bordeaux in 1858 in search of adventure and fortune. Over a period of more than 50 years they found both. After several ups and downs including successful trading and timber businesses, near bankruptcy and being taken hostage by pirates, the Roque brothers built Emeraude, Perle, Saphir, Rubis and Onyx to ferry passengers and freight along the waterways of Indochina and cruise on magnificent Halong Bay.

CONCEPT

The Emeraude offers a regular one night 2 days cruise & charter service on board a luxurious replica steamer with 37 cabins meticulously designed to evoke the nostalgic charm of colonial Indochina . A chance to experience timeless elegance and nostalgia of a by-gone era on board Halong’s finest.

ACCOMMODATION

Each bespoke cabin exudes warmth and character with high standards of workmanship, distinguished style and impeccable service. With its polished wooden floors and brass fixtures and fittings the Emeraude’s rooms offer timeless elegance. All cabins have two way air-conditioning, en suite bathrooms with private shower.

PICK UP FOR HALONG BAY EMERAUDE CRUISE 4 STAR

• Haiphong: from 10:00 – 10:30 AM
• Hanoi Old Quarter: from 7:30 to 8:00 AM
• Hotel in Halong city: 11:30 AM

DAY 1 (Lunch, Dinner)

12:00 – 12:15: Arrival in Emeraude Lounge to your private premium cruise to be welcomed onboard by your crew who will be hosting you.

12:15 – 12:30: Welcome drinks and safety briefing.

13:00 – 14:30: Lunch is served while cruising through the tranquil, peaceful and calm waters between Cat Ba Island and Ha Long Bay.

14:45: Explore Surprise Cave or Me Cung Cave

16:00: Weigh anchor and cruise to Pearl Farm. You can either choose to kayak or visiting and exploring methods of raising and pearl exploitation

18:00: Cooking demonstration

19:00: Dinner is served on the upper deck.

21:00: You can choose to watch a movie or squid fishing (seasonal)

DAY 2 (Breakfast, Light Lunch)

07:00: “Good Morning Vietnam”. Breakfast can be served anytime you like from 7 am onwards.

08:00: Drop anchor and explore the walk & tour at Titov Beach

09:30: Light lunch will be served on the sundeck/restaurant

11:30: Cruise north again towards Tuan Chau Island

11:15: Disembark for the Emeraude Cruises Lounge Inclusion, car/bus pick you up back to destination

• Hai Phong: 12:30 – 13:00 (Cat Bi airport or city center)
